Charlie Krafft at {far4} :: First Thursday Art Walk

Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009

{far4} is beginning the summer with its premier first Thursday art walk
with guns, grenades and white wine. Come by our store at 6:30 pm on June 4th to see what local artist and porcelain maker Charlie Krafft has been crafting
in his kilns. Mr. Krafft has been creating “disaster” ware to give
traditional porcelain an edge. From smoking bunnies to AK-47’s we will
display a great collection of work, including three one of a kind porcelain shovels.

In addition to the artwork we will be serving Theo Chocolate and wine for all.

Mother’s Day is approaching fast and {far4} is here to help!

Friday, May 1st, 2009

Finding a great gift for Mother’s Day is not an easy task.
You want to chose the perfect present but it can be more of a tedious chore than a whimsical shopping venture.
{far4} has great ideas organized in 4 price categories!
Each gift is unique and sure to make her smile, like the time you came home with all A’s on your report card.
All of our Mother’s Day gift purchases will come in a bag with a small card so you can look prepared as if you planned all of this since Christmas.
If the choice is daunting then let her decide and purchase a Green Gift Card.
We are happy only when your Mother is happy!

Heartache and Lust for Vanity

Friday, July 18th, 2008

New to the store this week are the amazing and unique Pixel Sculptings by local artist, James Dykes. His pieces combine original photography with outside sources. Dykes often combines scaned film prints and original material to create his one of a kind digitally manipulated images.

“Heartache and Lust for Vanity” or “Humpty Dumpty Story” comes framed ($2,100) and unframed ($900). Both pieces are currently exhibited at {far4}.

Alberto Pinto

Friday, May 16th, 2008

“Alberto Pinto conceives his home collections based on themes he holds dear and which he has developed over the years in the decors he creates.
Produced in collaboration with the best manufacturers, artisans and talented artists, these collections of objects, decorative accessories, furnishing fabrics and hand painted table services, entirely express his sense of refinement.”

New to the store this week is the hand painted china designed by a French interior design guru, Alberto Pinto. These dinner plates and cups with saucers are painted in gold wicker design which illustrates the designer’s understanding of affordable luxury. Most items are priced between $150 and $265 – very reasonable considering that all items are hand painted using real gold on Limoges ware.
